Making Salts 

Aim: To produce copper sulfate by reacting copper with an acid.

Equipment: Copper oxide powder, dilute (0.5 mol L-1)sulfuric acid,50 ml measuring cylinder, two 100 ml beakers, Bunsen burner, tripod, gauze mat, funnel, filter paper, Thermometer, Spatula, evaporating basin, stirring rod.
Method:

1. Add 20 ml of sulfuric acid to a 100 ml beakers. heat the acid until it reaches 70℃. Turn off your Bunsen burner.
2. Once heated, use a spatula to add pea-sized portions of copper oxide to the beaker. Stir the mixture for 30 seconds.
3. Repeat step 2 until no more will dissolve. Allow the beaker to cool.
4. Fold the filter paper and place in the fennel. Place the filter funnel into the seconds beaker.
5. Make sure the beaker is cool enough to hold at the top. The contents should still be hot. you may need your teacher to complete this step.
6. Gently swirl the contents of the beakers to mix, and then pour into the filter paper in the funnel. Allow to filter through.
7. Rinse the beaker you used to heat the mixture previously, and place it back on top of your tripod filled with 50-60 ml of water.
8. Place the evaporating basin on top of the beaker and carefully pour some of the solution from the beaker into the evaporating basin.
9. Gently heat the beaker until solution in the evaporating basin has reduced by half.
10. Leave the evaporating basin to cool. Once cool, move the evaporating basin to a warn place where it will not be disturbed(i.e a window-sill) and observe over the next few days. Blue copper sulfate crystals should form.

Observation: When we were mixing the pea-sized in sulfuric acid it dissolve it and turn to black and when we put it on beaker and it turn to blue.

Copper oxide + Sulfuric acid → Copper fulfate + water.

Yesterday in science we make a model  atom. I pick  a carbon

- Pick an atom form 3-10 on periodic table/
- Find out how many protons,neutrons + Electrons it has.
- Equipment: I piece of card.
                    30 cm strings
                     blue tac
                     coloured beads for protons + neutrons.
- Method: Sticks P+N beads to blue tac
                 Cut out strings form paper
                 Draw electrons onto rings
                 Create a label
                 Tape strings to back of paper so it can hang.

1. What's the atomic+mass number.
2. Number of P,E,+N.
3. How does it form an ion.

• The atomic number is 6 and the mass number is 12 .
• The Number of protons is 6, number of electrons is 6 and 6 Neutrons.
• the first shell have 2 electrons and the second shell have 4 electrons we can lost the sound shell and will have 4+.

There are so many hot places and cold places on earth.  Death

Valley is the hottest place on earth and the coldest place is

Oymyakon and it is very cold there. 

The hottest place on earth is Death Valley in California, USA .

It is famous as the hottest place on the earth and it is the driest

place in North America. It is too hot there to live but some animals

are in there. The record for this Death Valley is 134°F (57°F)was

recorded at Furnace Creek on July 10, 1913.

The coldest place on earth is in Russia in Oymyakon it is known as

a small town of 500 people located in the republic of  Sakha. There

are 500 humans live there in the town and some animals

(deer,white rabbits and a bear). live in the oymyakon .The

temperature there average -58°F During winter mounts.

The hottest place is Death Valley in California. The temperatures

are 134°F (57°C. However In the coldest place is in Russia in

Oymyakon the temperatures are -58°F During winter months.

Smoking can damage you lungs, You brain can have a nicotine, cigarettes has a nicotine that can effect your lungs and brain.

Long terms effects?

There are many long term effects of cigarettes, the effects are stroke,brain damage and you eyes are yellowing of whites of your eyes.

Benefits of giving up smoking?

The benefit of  giving up of smoking are stop smoking and do something earls or exercise.

Is vaping any better? A little, cigarettes doesn't give you cancer but vape doesn't but it still gives you shorten of breath.

What is a heart attack?

A Heart Attack is when the flow of blood to the heart is blocked.  The blockage is the most often a build-up of fat cholesterol and another symptom that forms plaque in the artery that feeds the heart.

How do you know you're having a heart attack? 

Pressure, tightness, pain, or a squeezing or aching sensation in your chest or arms that may spread to your neck.

How to prevent it?

Taking medications can reduce your risk of a subsequent heart attack and help your damaged heart function better.

Thick/thin side- The left ventricle of your heart is larger and thicker than the right ventricle.This is because it has to pump the blood further around the body,and againds higher pressure,compared with the right ventricle.

Fat/Muscle- The fat is the white bet in the heart (heart Muscle or Myocardium)is one of three types of vertebrate muscle,with the other two being skeletal and smooth muscle and strong.

Valves- The valves let blood flow to the atria and ventricles.

Labelled top holes-Holes in the heart, are right Aorta and the superior venacava.

Pig vs sheep heart- Pig heart, is very similar in size and anatomy to human heart. sheep have a four-chambered heart, just like humans.

Coronavirus 

The news item that I was interested in was about coronavirus. I chose coronavirus because it is one of the latest problems in our world. It impacts me because I worried about myself, my family and friends because what if it comes to this country and affects many people like in China? For our community, it will affect our health, government, social life and communication with other people. Furthermore, it affects our environment because we may not get fresh food, fresh air and it will affect our nature. This news makes me think of it because it can affect my life and others live by getting this virus if we are near people who are infected. By preventing this virus or to get infected is by wearing a mask, by being always clean and by eating healthy food
